About Me

Costanza Rossi Digital Marketing Specialist
Costanza Rossi Paid Media Consultant | PPC Freelancer

In a few words...

Hi, I am an Italian born, UK based digital marketing professional with +10 years experience in paid media and digital marketing. I began my career in 2014 working at a small marketing agency in London, where I was introduced to PPC and social media advertising.

Since then I immersed myself into the world of digital marketing working both agency and client side, and lately as a contractor and independent freelancer with a blend of marketing agencies and my own clients. Over the years I have managed millions of dollars of media spend across a variety of industries, from global travel companies, to tech start-ups, e-commerce brands, automotive, housing and properties, fashion, hospitality and many more.

I specialise in all forms of paid media and my expertise now covers almost all areas of digital marketing. I was lucky enough to be working at big corporations and tech start-ups using a tons of advanced software, channels and platforms I was able to master and with great people and mentors who always supported my educational journey and turned every day of my career into a learning day. On top of this, I made self-learning a way of living and embarked on a self-taught journey from my very first day of work, fuelled by a blend of curiosity and determination. Each new concept I mastered felt like a personal victory.

I currently work and travel most of the time and can fairly call myself a "digital nomad". I deeply love travelling and I'm passionate about portrait and travel photography. I also love sport and keeping fit. I've been playing volleyball my all life at professional level, but I quit during the covid pandemic, when the league was suspended and I started to travel. I now have to find alternative sports to keep fit and healthy, like running, beach volleyball, cycling, skiing and working out.

My
Journey

Born in Siena and raised in Montepulciano, I studied Classics and Ancient Philology in Florence (BA and MA) before moving to London in 2014 for a three-month internship at a small marketing agency. That internship turned into a ten-year career in one of the most competitive digital marketing scenes in Europe.

I started from scratch and worked my way up, combining hands-on experience with continuous learning and training.

When my internship ended, I faced the challenge of finding my first entry-level marketing job. In the meantime, I worked in restaurants and bars, took evening digital marketing courses, and attended English classes to sharpen my fluency. I shared crowded Victorian houses with too many flatmates, battled broken heating, mice, and bed bugs—experiences that many young Londoners know all too well.

It wasn’t easy, but I was determined. I stayed focused, kept learning, and showed up with energy and resilience. Between job interviews, online courses, and late-night study sessions, I built the foundation for the career I have today.

Eventually, that effort paid off—and I landed my first real digital marketing job.

My initial
Career

I was thrilled to land a role as a Digital Marketing Assistant at Flight Centre Travel Group, a major multinational headquartered in London for the EMEA region. That’s how my four-year journey with one of the world’s largest travel companies began.

Initially hired to support the business travel brands, I quickly discovered that there was no dedicated digital marketing function within the division at the time. This challenge became a turning point: I had the opportunity to build something from the ground up, taking ownership of digital strategy in a space that was still in its early stages.

Driven by curiosity and necessity, I immersed myself in learning. I taught myself everything from SEO to paid media, content strategy, CRM, and analytics—through online courses, tutorials, forums, and hands-on experimentation. My role expanded rapidly. I managed PPC, social media, website content and UX across multiple CMS platforms. I led the development of CRM and email marketing strategies using advanced automation tools and software integrations. I also became the point person for data reporting and digital performance analytics.

Flight Centre’s strong learning culture and support for professional development allowed me to grow fast. I was given the freedom to explore, test, and lead projects—skills that I carry into my freelance work today.

As the team grew, I moved into a specialist role as Digital Paid Acquisition Manager, overseeing all paid search, paid social, and programmatic advertising across the division.

Latest years

Over time, I continued to deepen my expertise on increasingly complex projects and platforms. In 2020, the travel industry faced an unprecedented disruption—and for me, it marked a turning point. Soon after, I was offered an agency-side contract running display campaigns for Google Play. That moment launched my transition into self‑employment: I set up my Ltd company, business banking, and insurance, and dove into my new freelance career.

Since then, I’ve worked on a long‑term contract as Paid Media Manager at Vanarama (now Auto Trader), where I mastered advanced e‑commerce marketing. I designed and executed dynamic ads at scale, built multi-touch attribution models, leveraged CDPs for first‑party data, and led the rollout of next‑generation PPC platforms via API-driven templates.

Alongside agency and in‑house roles, I’ve partnered with web design and digital marketing teams as a specialist paid media consultant. From startups to established enterprises, I’ve built paid media strategies and launched high‑impact campaigns—always tailored to each client’s goals and budget constraints.
